Home Feature Madness Continues! It’s down to the Sweet 16!
We hope you’ve been enjoying our tournament thus far. We know that nothing comes close to the real thing, but we’ve had fun with this in lieu of our typical activities this March. We hope you’re all staying safe and healthy. For those keeping tabs on bragging rights, here we go. Here’s your Round of 32 recap:
South Region: The #1 seeded Hardwood Floors continued its domination in the second round as well. They pulled out to a quick 8-0 lead and didn’t look back after that, essentially burning #8. Gas Fireplace with its suffocating defense and uptempo offense.
In a tight match-up, #4 Fenced Backyard squeaked by #5 Gas Cooking, as the fifth seed, ironically, ran out of gas. Shout out to all of those coaches who insisted on conditioning and maintaining your endurance in the off-season because it paid off; Fenced Backyard returns to the Sweet 16, avenging a second-round heart-breaker to Highly-Rated Schools last year.
#3. Finished Basement easily defeated #6. Newer Roof. Most disappointed has to be senior Fiberglass Shingles from Newer Roof, as he has had quite the run in his collegiate career.
And, lastly, it seems social distancing isn’t as bad as we thought, as #15. 1+ Acres is still in the game, moving past #7. In-Law Suite with a last-second buzzer-beater!
Survivors: #1. Hardwood Floors, #4. Fenced Backyard, #3. Finished Basement, and #15. 1+ Acres.
East Region: This region was rather boring as March Madness goes, with #1, #4, and #3 seeds all easily dismantling their opponents to move onto the Sweet 16. #2. Flex Room apparently couldn’t handle the flex offense of #7. Granite Countertops, as they dominated from the tip to the final buzzer, shooting an unbelievable 72.7% from the field!
Survivors: #1. Single-Family Home, #4. Large Backyard, #3. Short Commute, and #7. Granite Countertops.
Midwest Region: Again, most games covered the spread here, as #1, #3, and #2 are all still standing. #4. Stainless Appliances succumbed to #5. Family-Friendly Neighborhood, as junior stand-out guard Neighborhood Watch shot a whopping 54.5% from beyond the arc!
Survivors: #1. Open Concept Living/Kitchen, #5. Family-Friendly Neighborhood, #3. Quiet Neighborhood, and #2. Dual Vanities in Master.
West Region: #9. 1 Car Garage was humiliated by our #1 seed for obvious reasons. More is better when it comes to Home Features and #1. 2+ Car Garage had its bench warmers in by the 2nd Quarter, cruising to its 10th consecutive Sweet 16 appearance.
Survivors: #1. 2+ Car Garage, #5. Washer & Dryer Bedroom Level, #3. Breakfast Bar/Island, and #2. Highly-Rated Schools.
Well, there you have it folks. Our 64 teams have been whittled down to our Sweet 16, and the match-ups promise to be fantastic. Be sure to vote and spread the word!
